The Rain Slashed Silent

Hilltop deathbeds, fingering tides, graves spilling down the hillside. Hammered sentence, sweet dream sweepers, village shoulders bound in talon's sleepers. Silence slept soft; dreams bone bitten. Memory-clung arms hold girl smitten. Venom stained lips, sugar stained smiles; sleep off your secrets, sweep out your eyes. Sky spitting warnings to stop before they can't. Splashed it's battered, bruised, but beating heart. The rain slashed silent. Beat out violent rhythms on the side. Windows bleed with light; beacons to these night dancers.

We've sunk into the studio again; & burnt two songs into the retina's of our ears.

i could feel it coming on; i could feel it clawing its way

to the top of my face. & when it finally surfaced; it

was an awfully obnoxious little sod; shining there

on my mouth for all the world to see & disgustingly

overfamiliar. So i plucked it off, and gave it a dressing down.

said to him"I don't want to see you round here anymore;

you're making me look a right div" So off he went,

and needless to say he hasn't been back since...

There's some photos down here from our last excursion together,

shot on terrifying red film, that make things look a little more

mediterranean, which always quite nice. We will be playing a show

at the 229 on Wednesday, so someone somewhere come to that.

Then its to the studio hopefully. So ears peeled.

the other week, we played a show at 93 Feet East,

on Brick Lane. We were chariot-bound in a Saab 95

estate; and flew down the M1, rocketing towards the

embarrassing little scratch on the horizon that

was the London skyline. Disgusting looking thing.

We almost lost Mr Wanzala in the bleak-black void

of a motorway service station, jaws agape, threatening to

gobble him up. But we found him again.

The show went apparently well by all accounts; which is

always helpful, and some friends arrived to

offer us much needed moral support.

Fuelled by Congolese cuisine we stepped

into the streets, perused the Rough Trade record store,

and desperately tried to fend off eager curry-house-captains.

The whole debacle is below in photo's for someone's enjoyment.

They got blurry towards the end, but we all do in the dark.

a happy new year

& we did not spend christmas celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, rather we hunkered down in Hall Place studios for a few days, ice biting at our fingers as we spat this song onto tape. Richard Formby taking charge once more: bleeding radiators in a desperate effort to ease all our aching joints and bring us back from breaking points. We worked hard on this one, and theres alot in there to catch out. Many thanks again to Richard, who's final mix was a perfomance in itself, as he endeavoured to maintain crumbling tape loops, keeping them intact till the song had run its course. And so we gravitated towards the ever magnetic shit-tip
of a city that is our betrodden capital. Sucked in on tubes and trains
like boat-ripped sea-stripped driftwood washed in by dirty waves,

clammy fingers propelling the limp mass forwards. Performed in

the fabulous converted barn that is Proud galleries in Camden:

then said hello to some friends who we haven't seen for a while.

Never Follow Them Into Their Basement

There's been little to shout about out here recently; but thats

not to say that we haven't been toiling away in the damp mines

that are the basement. New songs are being carefully constructed

out of copper and plastic; they're starting to look quite good.

We recorded a session for a radio station called Tin Can last week.

It will be broadcasting in September and specific details will be

announced shortly. We are planning to head back to a studio

before we have lost the summer to get some new stuff down on tape,

which I'm sure we will leave on here for anyone who wishes to hear it.

Not Dark Yet

The days have been long and the nights even longer; the short spell of summer left us all feeling lethargic, and rehearsals have taken a back seat in favour of sitting in a garden listening to the birds & the A65 carrying all the bad people into town and all the good ones out.. We will be back onstage soon so come see us. Heres how to keep busy in the hot hot heat:xB

Found some better looking photos from The Crescent, you can see us this time. I'm not sure if that constitutes as better. Perhaps its worse? I know it is for some people. Nonetheless, they're right here. The crescent have politely invited us back, so it will be worth your while coming down to see us again. Its all happenning on the July 16 I believe, so you've quite a few weeks to plan what your going to wear.

Thankyou to all who came to our show at The Crescent, its much appreciated. We had a great time, we hope you did too. I have no idea how it sounded, but the people i spoke to seemed to think it sounded tip top, so alls well that ends well. If you havent already, you can download the new song "The Town & The City" by clicking on that title below. It got a good reception on Thursday, people seemed to be baffled by the over use of reverb, it bent a few minds a little too close to breaking point; i saw one kid fall over and i dont think he got back up again, but i couldnt find him on the floor at the end so they must have swept him up with the rubbish. Heres a couple of terribly low quality photographs. The first being the stage before doors opened, and the second being us mid set. They may be the only ones hanging around so its the best we can offer. Until we find a few better; enjoy.
